pickup loses fuel prime when the motor is turned off. Why?

    If it truely is losing prime, then something is leaking. If it is leaking air "IN", then it should be leaking diesel "OUT" when pressurized. I would look for something else.

    These trucks have an electric pump that brings fuel from the tank to the filter on the engine. That pump will not run until an engine mounted switch detects OIL PRESSURE. The switch is located on the top center at the back of the engine. It is a two part switch, one part operates the guage on the dash and the other allows the fuel pump to operate. This could be faulty, they have that reputation…
