4×4 or AWD SUV with good/decent gas mileage??

Ok I am in the market to buy a new (used) car. Being a Mom I need an SUV that is 4 or all wheel drive. My market is somewhere under ,000 but I would really like to stick in the -,000 range. I am concerned about gas prices so in that price range what is a good SUV thats good on gas? Thanks!

I owned a jeep cheerokee that would get about 350 miles off a 15 gallon tank. I didn’t think it was that bad for a SUV. they are pretty small though as far as the ‘SUV’s" go, not sure if it would be big enough for you.
I have a Toyota Solara now(and I have two kids), and I get over 450 miles to a tank. So much better with gas, and safer on the road.
