'99 XJ Jeep Cherokee "Part Time 4×4" Indicator light doesn't work?

I have the Command Trac part time 4WD system. The 4WD does definitely work, but the indicator light in the instrument cluster does not illuminate. I have taken out the inst cluster and checked the bulb, and it’s good. The connection at the transfer case is intact with no apparent broken wires (but I have not taken it off yet).
Are there any switches or things that typically would cause this?
Only knowledgable responses please.

The switch is located right where the wires go into the T-case.

Its a pretty simple fix, the switch was about $85 last time I looked for one(it was a few years ago). But if the 4wd is working, then its a personal decision to fix it.

I have a ’99 cherokee sport and the same thing happened to me. The dealership said it is a switch inside the transfer case and would cost about $700 dollars to fix….. so if your 4×4 is still working i wouldn’t worry about it
