Buying a new SUV need opinions?

I am going to be buying a new car tomorrow my wife and I have narrowed our search to 2. First is a 2000 Nissan Xterra V6 4×4 with 124,000 miles. The other is a 2000 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition also a V6 3.3cyl. 99,000 miles. So I want to know opinons on quality, gas mileage, etc.. I have read alot of reviews on both but I was hoping to hear from people who have one or the other and there opinions? Thanks

Xterra has a bit stiffer Hwy ride but it is the better vehicle.
Ford is too big for a V6.
don't own either but drive both at work.

All v6s are expensive to insure.
