I just got a Chevy Silverado 07′ and it is 2 wheel drive, I love off roading and was wondering if it is still able to taken off road, I know 4 wheel is way better with scaling hills, but I am sure 2 wheel can do it also.

you can in a limited way, being able to pull from the front wheels while the back wheels push the weight is a definite advantage, and with a thousand lbs of v8 on top of the front pulling wheels is a big advantage. the vehicles I had that worked great was a older two wheel drive suburban with a posi trac rear end.
If you have ever seen the truck racing series with different classes, this is why the two wheel drive class has to drive different than the 4 x 4 class, you need a lot of wieghr and you need both tires able to work hard, as you have to use momentum for a lot of stuff, and you will be able to do a lot of stuff that the 4×4 can, but steep up hill off camber loose terrain is going to leave you stuck if your not careful, and mud is not happening if its very deep. you can have a lot of fun if you set it up right, and in order to do what you are talking about, you spend a lot of time going fast and sideways a lot, you almost never go straight just to keep going ( you are driving with the rear wheels and a pickup is 800 lbs too light) some extra weight about a foot ahead of the rear tires is one thing that will help, but if its loose weight and slides over the back of the tires rocketing up a hill it can make things more difficult. also tire selection is super important, and for dirt and mud you need an aggressive heavyduty mud type tire such as a bf goodrich mud terrain, this is a heavy duty tire, that can take some serious abuse, you cannot go everywhere a 4 x 4 can, however, it necessary have a friend with a winch, or a heavy duty strap available can help a lot, the idea is to have fun and learn what the truck can do, and what it cant.
yes but you may not get back on the road
Sure. You could take a Miata off road if you wanted to.
How it performs is another matter altogether, so make sure somebody’s got a winch
Dont you mean one wheel drive, its only two wheel drive if the diffs locked
True and not true. I take my 2 whl drive titan offroad all the time and haven’t gotten stuck yet. Heavy duty tires are a plus. And lol if ur like me and ur truck has a supercharger its really difficult to get stuck. U just have to much power unless ur deep in mud like more than half ur tire deep. But that’s just my opinion.
