Can i drive my 4×4 jeep with a front diff removed?

I mean the front shaft disconnected from the front Diff and run it as 2wd?

    Are you having problems with your front axle, than no. If you are having trouble with your transfer,than maybe it will be driveable. Or perhaps you have a bad drive shaft, than sure.

    Sure, just keep it in two wheel drive.

    I think I see what you are talking about. You mean, just removing the propellor shaft between your front differential (where your axle make the ‘T’) and your transfer case? Sure.

    depends on what transfer case, I would call the parts guys at the counter of a local dealer and make sure, I had friends with the older jeep in the seventies and eighties, that had to pull drivelines for one reason or another, but all were short term, and little or no freeway driving. just check with the local jeep dealer and make sure this will not blow all the fluid out of the transfer case, some of them have oil pumps similar to a transmission.

    It is done all the time. My son pulls his because he says it saves him fuel. Others I know pull theirs because they vibrate at speed and they only use 4×4 on the trails.
