If you’ve got enough time and money, anything is possible.
Size wise, a 350 and a 383 are exactly the same size on the outside. Do some quick measuring and see: Measure a small block cylinder head to cylinder head, then measure your truck, shock tower to shock tower. That will give you a rough idea of room. Also, start looking for an adapter to go between the engine and the factory tranny. I’d also start doing some net searches, because somebody might have done it already….
yes you can but you will have to make the motor mounts custom and do other custom work to make it all work out. Ha i have a chevy s10 and they work with 350′s and it extend cab 4×4
you can with the correct motor mounts and trannsission mounts and custom driveshaft and a different read end and if your doing a stick, more work and blah blah blah,
anyways, it is alot of work to make it work right.
Adapted to the Toyota running gear????can be done, but expect to spend a lot of money replacing gear boxes, u-joints, and differentials. This type swap requires upgraded brakes and running gear front to rear.
There is hardly a vehicle manufactured that somebody hasn’t a kit to install a Chevy small block into.
Try any of the 4×4 forums or GOOGLE " toyota chevy conversion". I’ll wager that in less than 5 minutes you will have an answer.
To everyone who thinks its hard or impossible, its not. advanceadapters.com sells the housing to make any chevy small block fit a toyota 5 speed trany and bolt in engine mounts. they also have the upgraded radiator you will need for the bigger motor. you can put any chevy small block of just about any year in the toyota pickup. just read the fit details on their site and you will find the right parts.
