i do a little off roading and would like to get serious about climbing stuff with it. but i also want to use it to drive to work what so i need to look for and what do the different ratios mean?

I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 V6 and my mileage per gallon is usually around 13 miles per gallon. What can I do to improve this number? When I purchased the car it was averaging 17 or 18 MPG. Now its averaging 13 (which is completely ridiculous).

I don’t haul or tow anything and I do like the Jeep because it is small and easier to drive.

Not new Jeeps, but like rock-crawlers 4×4‘s etc.., CJ-7′s etc..

I’m pretty handy and have completed projects like replaced brakes, radiator, alternator, etc. I’m a novice with transmissions.

I just got it last week, has 112,800 miles. Never owned a jeep. I’ve filled it up with Plus. I want to keep this thing running at it’s best. Also I don’t know when it had the oil changed last. Someone suggested flushing that and transmission fluid. Is that overkill?? Thanks!!

I bought a 95 yj four cylinder .I have never off roaded and im looking forward to learning so any tips are welcome. My bigest question is if im puting it in 4h or 4L do I hit the clutch or just simply slap it in.
