Do any 4 cylinder 4X4 trucks or SUV's exist that are comfortable for a tall guy like myself?

I’m 6’5" and I just can’t afford a 6 or 8 cylinder truck or suv that gets 12-16 MPG, but I can’t seem to find a 4 cylinder vehicle that comfortable for me outside of a Ford Ranger pickup truck. I’d buy a 4X4 Ford Ranger in a second if they weren’t so bad on gas. My mother just bought a 2002 Honda CR-V with AWD and although I love it, my knees stay pressed against the dashboard even with the seat all the way back. Any ideas folks?

Toyota Tacoma/ Toyota 4Runner. THey are extremely reliable, offer a 4 cylinder engine and can fit taller people. I am 6’2 and fit fine, my father is taller and fits fine as well.
Just to let you know though that the 4 cylinder options are very underpowered, and you will definitely feel the lack of power when going up steep hills, entering the freeway, or god forbid you actually try to tow anything with these.

The V-6 models arent really that much worse of fuel, sometimes they are just as good.

It’s the Ford Ranger and the Mazda B series, which are the same truck basically.

I bought a ford diesel with the 6 speed manual transmission, which averaged 25 mph! Later I swapped the problematic powerstroke motor out for the cummins, and now get 27mph. Not bad for a four door dually. In the process of adding a vegetable oil tank, and a hydrogen processor/injector.

Try an older Isuzu trooper… I have an 89, and am 6′ tall, and there must be a good 6 inches of headroom above me when I drive it; much taller inside than my older Suburban. 4 cylinder gets decent, not great, mileage (about 18 mpg if you’re easy on it). Trucks are bulletproof if they don’t have rust

I would suggest the 2004 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner V6, its extremely fuel efficient (25+ MPG) and has lots of power (ive driven with it over sand dunes), and has a large cab. But, it must be the Prerunner not the new Tacoma.
