   awsome truck. Just make sure to check the ball joints before buying. i personally would also get the 4.7 (v8) over the 3.7 (v6). The 8 and 6 have almost identical gas milage and the 8 has way more power. I own a 98 4×4 club cab with the 5.2 and love it.

   I had a 98 and a 99. The 98 had the v6 and when I was on the freeway it shifted all the time around 60-65. I traded it for a 99 with a v8 and it got better mileage and had tons more power. They were both good trucks but I would recommend the v8. I never had any problems other than I thought the v6 was a little weak. The 99 was the best truck i ever had. I would recommend the Dakota. The only reason I got rid of it was i got a bunch of speeding tickets and the insurance went crazy because I was only 19.

   I bought a 4 door new. I have had very little issues. I even hit a deer with 6000 miles after 5 months.

   There was a recall on the ball joints. Check to see if it was done. If not, it should still be applicable.

   I had the power steering pump replaced on warranty.

   The new one takes a little bit to warm up, but it has been very cold this year. (lows around -10)

   If it looks good, buy it. There is a lot of room for others and kids (if you are at that point) The bed does hold a lot of cargo.

   I am getting 17-19 on the road and about 12 in the city.
   Fill it up at 3/4 of a tank, it takes the load off the wallet.
