there are a lot of engines to choose from, summit racing.com is one website, I know that gm performance sells crate engines, so does edelbrock.com you can get a nice 300 hp engine for 5 grand or so with all the goodies, check jegs.com lets see year one.com probably has exactly what you need, this is the company many of those car shows use because the parts, while not cheap, are excellent quality and better than new in many cases, brothers.com is another website for all trucks with a good reputation type the name of the web site in your web search box click on the link in the results page, and you can order a free catalog from a lot of these places, or research their extensive online catalogs too. good luck have fun.

    http://www.summitracing.com/search/Product-Line/BluePrint-Engines-GM-383-C-I-D-Base-Stroker-TBI-Crate-Engines/?keyword=383+crate&autoview=SKU

This is just a 383 stroker it an awesome engine but its made from a 355 vortec and I personally like the ls engines if you can afford them summitracing.com has a lot of stuff you should really check them out

Yes they do and a plain jane short block – is a bargain. New engines, not remans.
Run down to a local dealership and see what they can do for you, they could even give you a quote on install and tune.
