Hydraulic system with air in it may be the cause of spongy brakes but so could rusted locked up calipers. A total brake system overhaul that truck needs will exceed the value of the truck. Just new rotors wheel bearings axle seals and brake pads could easily set you back $300 dollars. Re manufactured calipers $160 each. The rear brake job rear drums wheel Cly's, shoes new springs (obsolete by now) $250. How about rubber flex hoses $30 each your truck has three. A complete clutch job costs approx $450 these day. Motor and transmission mounts extra. That's how it is trying to keep a 24 year old truck running. Run don't walk away from that old truck. Road trips? more like a money pit! Above prices are for parts and not the labor to install them.

Unless you are a mechanic you would be a total fool to buy a truck with brake provblems amongst other things. You got to be kidding buying a 24 year old truck. Since your that smart I got a bridge to sell you at a steal!
