how can i make my truck perform better off road?

I just bought a 2000 ford ranger 4×4. Its the regular model, not the off road but i want to use it off road, nothing crazy, just mudding and dirt trails. Is there anything i can do to make my truck a better off road truck without spending alot of money? I really want bigger tires and some lights over the top, maybe a lift kit. il put a link to show what my ranger looks like now. Thanks

Two major upgrades right off the bat.

1 Add class three hitch to front of truck and get a winch mounted on a bar so you can add or remove winch at your discretion.

    2 Posi Trac differentials.

I suggest you join a local mud or hill group and get to know what is needed for your particular driving desires.

Anyone who goes off road funning without a winch is just begging for a very, VERY expensive tow/recovery bill.

Please be safe in what you do and by all means have a great time. Fun and safe do go hand in hand.

Instead of doing a full suspension lift, you could opt for spring spacers to gain a few inches and will cost quite abit less than a full lift package.
