I am considering buying a used 1998 isuzu rodeo, is this a wise decision?
it has 127000 miles, excellent condition, v6 4×4 for 2995.00. the abs light is on but brakes work fine and mechanic said there is a flaw with the light but not the brakes, he replaced the pads. I just need it for local travel, to and from school kinda stuff. i read alot of reviews some who had nightmares and other's who loved it. i'm not going to need it for the 4×4 features but do love the quick pick up and excellent body condition and for that year still looks fairly modern. just don't want to have transmisssion or engine problems, i do understand regular maintanance and up keep, i'm more concerned with costly problems. looks very clean and runs smooth as far as i could tell. also tested brakes pushing gas with brakes pushed also, jumped just a little the first time and not at all the second. what does anyone think?

It seems like it may be worth a look. If your serious about buying it, take it to a different mechanic and have him give the from end a quick once over. Make sure the bearings and bushings are all intact. Make sure the four wheel drive works properly.
BEWARE: An ABS light is usually an indication of a larger problem. Usually the light is a good indication that a wheel bearing is going bad, the sensor is part of the hub. But, any good mechanic, other than the guy you are buying it from, should be able to tell you at a glance what the actual problem is. There really is no such thing as a faulty trouble light. Manufacturers put them there for a reason.
These are decent trucks. Price seems a bit high to me.

According to KBB, that is a reasonable asking price. If you like it and can afford it, go for it.
