I have a 1994 toyota 4×4 pickup and was wondering how much a completely new engine would cost?

I believe the engine was stock and rebuilt. But with its 33 Inch tires and 4 inch lift it accelerates VERY slowly. so i want a new engine that can accelerate quicker.
im not going to chas for clunkers it. It is an awesome truck. Just accelerates so slowely. BTW CASH FOR CLUNKERS IS RETARDED. Wasting perfectly good vehicles because the earth is getting "warmer". Thats bull shit.

Hey don,t get rid of the 4 runner….You can get a used one from japan…In japan they get cash to get a new car when they reach 60 or 70,000 miles. There is a company called attarco here in calif…They will sell you one for about 850.00..You also get a 6 month warranty…www.attarco.com.They will also ship world wide…It,ll cost you 150..00 to the east coast…They have a shop in berkeley ca and one in sacramento….I have had my 72 toyota landcruiser for 12 years, and the dmv sends me a letter saying they will give me 500.00 to junk it…Hell I got 500.00 in one wheel and tire!!!!!When they mean clunkers they are refering to Ford Exploders and Chevy Blazers!!!!!!As far as rebuilding the motor,3500.00 for a 4 banger, this includes cam, shaved heads, clutch, labor, and all the hot rod 4 banger stuff…V6 add another 800 to that…

Don’t listen to these idiots. Toyota 4×4 are worth money. Parts are a lot and a lot of people like them. It is worth it to fix it.

I suggest looking on http://www.craigslist.org for parts

You could spend anywhere from 200-1200 depending on how many miles the new engine has and everything.

    It is totally worth fixing!!

Once fixed it would prob sell for about 5-6 grand. They are not cheap!
