I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 that is overheating, can someone help me?

I have replaced the electric radiator fan, and also checked the sensor behind the passenger side headlight and its fine. Any other suggestions for me to check out? I appreciate any and all feedback. Thanks, Kevin
The mileage is 115,000 and it only overheats when its idling. While im driving down the road its just fine and the A/C blows cold air while driving. Thanks for the help!

is it a Laredo i had the same problem, how many miles. I found out it was actually my trans over heating, and later on it was getting so hot it blew up my radiator. That happened twice before i traded it in. that may not be your problem but its something to look into.

and by the way my name is robert april is my wife

I had an 1999 GC before trader it for an 09 Jeep Liberty that overheated the same as you as saying. I had the thermostat replaced still over heated i had the water pump replaced and nothing helped it. So finally I let my dealership hold it and run it for a couple hours and they found that the cooling fan was intermittently working which is caused by and electrical problem more and i believe they replaced a sensor.

I wouldnt use the air conditioning if its overheating, but I think its the water pump, the impeller is worn and pumps only at higher rpm’s.
