Either the Toyota 4 runner or the Pathfinder, they are both pretty good vehicles, The 4runner ir more reliable, but not so strong.
I liked the pathfinder better, it’s stronger and more confortable to me, also more durable.
The 4runner started to give up on me near the 190k miles, the pathfinder passed the 220k miles and still run strong!
I have do do more repair with the 4 runners also.
So I would suggest the Pathfinder, I hade good with a pathfinder, toyota is really good too, but it’s just my subjective view.
I don’t have much say about the others, cos they don’t have very good reviews anyway.

PD: I drove the Pathfinder harder, took it to more places and lasted me longer and less problems than with the 4runner, gas is a little more, but if you don’t consider that very very inportan, then go Pathfinder.

The Toyota 4runner would be a good choice. It has good reliability and got excellent ratings by consumer reports. This SUV will probably be most reliable and last a long time. The 4runner has a good history and will not require much repairs.

Just an opinion but I would stay away from the jeep cherokees, been there done that. More expense than it was worth, but I do know for sure the toyota is by far better. Nissan’s pretty descent too, but I don’t know anything about the isuzu or rodeos. If you want something to treat rough and rigid, from experience the toyotas the one for you.

A Chevy Blazer (any year) is a good option as well. They are big but not huge. This means that they will be comfortable buy not massive. You can find them with a manual transmission and they have real 4wd (not AWD). Plus, they are popular with off roaders (especially the older ones) so there are tons of aftermarket parts for upgrade or repair.

A 4runner would be an economical and capable alternative as well, but I personally prefer the Blazer. Jeep has had reliability and economy issues, but it is probably going to be the most capable off road vehicle. Nissan would not be a bad idea but it would also not be the best. I would avoid Isuzu due to their light construction and small stature.

out of the nissan the toyota the Isuzu and the jeep. i would say the jeep is the best because it is built for off road and so is the rest of the jeep line up. but the SUV i recommend is the ford expedition because it is Bigger and can easily handle oregon’s landscape at it.

here is the 09 ford expediton link

    or a Z71 suburban

Have you looked at Ford Escape?
It drives well and good mileage too.
