I want to spend between 3 and 7 thousand dollars on a project 4×4?

but would be willing to put as much as 10 to 15 thousand into during the build. i like jeeps alot, the 97′s through now but maby do a v8 swap. and i also like the older k5 blazers and broncos from the 80′s. Im just trying to get some sugestions on what would be the best build 4×4. like price wise and build time and availability of the parts and so on. any comments would be apreciated.

Buy a 4X4 ya don’t have to fix or restore. You will be sorry if you spend $10G on a klunker and then one day it will not run… Cause you fixed something…
as a diehard ford man it pains me to say these words. go with a chevy. parts are cheaper and more available and many parts can be interchanged between model years. you can also get jeep parts easy but i would suggest a cj over the yj because they will accept engine swap without drivetrain upgrade.
Go for the K5; it will already have a V8 and is more likely to be available at a lower price (most of them are known "gas guzzlers) and have been traded in on newer models. Good luck!
