    They could give you more traction but you really need a front axle if you plan on going into deep mud, water or snow.

    just because it isn't 4×4, doesn't mean they make only a little difference

    if your tires are noticeably larger and more heavy or just different from stock it usually affects your gas mileage slightly, but the biggest problem i see when people put all terrain tires on the truck is the tires scrubbing the fenders or the truck itself because they are too large. as long as you have the clearance you really won't see any drastic changes.

    All terrain tires can make a significant difference in traction if they feature a more aggressive tread than those you are currently running. The truck does not need to be 4 wheel drive to benefit from more tractable tires.
