Jeep Wrangler with no doors and rain, how bad will the interior get wet?

I just bought my Wrangler, which I love about 5 months ago. Its a 2004 X model. In cincinnati, the weather is finally nice and hot, so I like to keep the doors off and the top down the majority of the time. My question is if I keep the doors off when it rains, is that ok? Or will the water damage the electrical components? It’s probably a dumb question to some of you serious Jeepers but I’m new to the club so any insight is helpful.

Wont damage anything and to be honest I havnt had many problems with alot of water getting in… But if the wind is bad or blowing the wrong way prepare to get soaked as well as your passengers lol,

I actually just drove my ’98 Wrangler with the top down and doors off in a torrential downpour. It was so much fun! The floor pan had over an inch of standing water in it by the time I got home but all you have to do is pull the drain plugs and you are all set. Most everything in the Wrangler is built to be water proof or resistant to an extent. The electrical system will be fine. The only thing I would worry about is your carpet developing a weird odor or getting moldy. My wrangler has the carpet removed and Rhino-Lining put in its place, you don’t have to worry about moldy carpet or rust developing! Your Jeep will be fine, but in my opinion I would take the time to remove your carpet and have a truck bed liner sprayed in if you love driving your Jeep in the rain like that =)

The Herculiner worked for me and i did it in 2 hrs. You can also protect the seat with neuprene seat covers that’s what i have on mine.

It shouldn’t get too wet. But the carpet WILL stink, mine got rained in and it took about 3 weeks with the top down to get rid of the stink. If you are gonna leave the doors off of it for a while I would invest in some waterproof seat covers. They are a little pricey, but they saved me from having wet seats.

i dont think your upholstery will mildew or mold. ive let my wrangler get rained in several times and my seats and carpet always dry out quickly and still smell like new. but i have noticed that whenever i let it get rained in my speakers crackle until they dry out.
