suspension lift for a chevy k1500?
i would like to lift my ’96 Chevy Silverado 4×4. this is the first truck i would be lifting and i would like to know if there is any info i should know? i have stock-size tires on it on custom rims. i do not plan on getting bigger tires. i was thinking about a 2" OR 4" lift. should i get a suspension or a body lift? would you recommend a specific brand? order the shocks with the kit? also the ones ive been looking at say they will keep the "rake" look.. is this "cool" to leave alone or should i level it up too? any extra info i may need? this is mostly a highway truck with light mudding and 4-wheeling. would like to possibly do light mud competition also. thank you
for the mud competition: i know i cannot do it with "stock tires" i did not say there were stock tires on it. i just spent 00 on agressive tires. i said they are stock SIZE. sorry for the error. anyway this isnt about my tires. its about the suspension. thank you. PS: i have been mudding for years, just not with a chevy and not with a truck i bought my own lift for.

Get an off road design rear shackle flip kit. You get about 4inches of lift if i remember correctly. They go for about $200. For the front you can crank the torsion bars for a few inches in the front. You could also buy cheap coil spring spacers. I don’t know if it will work, but you could also check out the front coils out of a 2500/3500 series truck, they might have taller springs.
The proper way to lift the front is to buy new lift coil springs.
You wouldn’t be able to do competition on stock tires. I don’t think it will look all the great with stock tires on a 4" lift. But hey, its your truck.
4wheelparts, stylintruck, Summit Raceing
With your stock tires you wouldn’t want to lift it more then 2 inches or it wouldn’t look right, if you lift it 3 to 4 inches 33 or 35 would fit nicely,
don’t put 35 on a 3 inch lift or you’ll rub, do a lift kit for the suspension, threes alot of them out there so do your own Research, when you do need tires get something like a BFG 33 x 12.5 16with 10 inch rims,
