I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4×4 V6 and my mileage per gallon is usually around 13 miles per gallon. What can I do to improve this number? When I purchased the car it was averaging 17 or 18 MPG. Now its averaging 13 (which is completely ridiculous).

I have an in-line six motor from a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4. Can I put it in a 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee 2WD – that previously had an in-line six? All advice will be greatly appreciated!
