To change a truck into a 4 wheel drive, you will need to change the entire front end, add a transfer case, replace the drive shaft and make sure that the gear ratio in the front and rear matches.

The cost of such a conversion, especially if you are buying the parts individually, is going to greatly exceed the value of the finished truck, or the cost of purchasing a 4X4 truck to replace yours.

It would cost far less to just buy a truck made to be 4X4. You would have to change virtually every thing under the chassis. This is totally impractical.

Find an ’89-92 rolling chassis, add your cab and engine. BTW:W250 is a 4×4.

You need to sell your D250 and buy a W250.

a w 250 is a 4 wheel drive truck ,unless you have an odd ball truck it should be one already, you cant take a 2 wheel drive truck though and make it a 4 wheel drive truck its virtually impossible, and not very practical, good luck.
