What is the best mid sized suv?

I am looking to sell or trade my dodge ram 4×4 and replace it with a more gas friendly suv. I have three kids and two dogs so it would need to have room. My thoughts have been maybe the tahoe or trailblazer. Anyone know enough about cars to help?
Well I am not looking to tow. I travel and just like the room and need four wheel drive. What about the range rover?

The Tahoe is not going to be more gas friendly than the Dodge Ram. And the Trailblazer leaves a lot to be desired in terms of quality and fuel economy. Do you need to tow stuff, like a boat? Then I say you get the Expedition. Keep in mind that if you want to tow, its not going to be more gas-friendly than your Ram. The Expedition is better than the Tahoe/Suburban because the third row seat actually fits an three adults and its makes better use of it’s space than the Tahoe. An extended length version is available that compete’s with the Suburban. The Expedition is also better at towing and better quality and is lower priced. But what if you don’t need to tow stuff? Then you have a couple more choices in the crossover segment. If you are someone who wants driving to be fun, get a Mazda CX-9. Very large and spacious. It’s a Mazda, so the driving dynamics are great, you feel like you’re in a small sedan. The only way to tell the difference is the high seating position. If you like quality and luxury and funkiness, get a Ford Flex. Underneath to love-it-or-hate-it styling, is a very luxurious and well thought out cabin. The Ecoboost engine is also available you you need power, making it the most powerful crossover on the market. If all you care about is room, get a Chevrolet Traverse. It is the biggest, but it gets pricey fast if you aren’t careful with the options, and due to its big size, is quite sluggish

Keep in mind that EPA fuel economy figures mean almost nothing. It depends on the driver and cargo.
