What is the best quality model year for the 2000's Ford Explorer?

I’d like to find out which is the best one altogether, I would be getting it used (most likely) and would be driving it on paved and unpaved roads/tracks (ie a 4×4). I can be bothered to find out individual reviews, but would like others opinions on where to start.

tl;dr- Need a ford explorer, which model year to get or should wait for newer model or get other than ford (haha).

if you are looking for an explorer, the best years are between 2003 and 2005. they were made to handle extremely well on off road terrain and they also handle great on paved surfaces. there was a better quality shock and suspension system on these models as well.
