What is the difference between a Chevy and GMC pickup?

both Chevy and GMC pickups seem to be the same. What is the difference between a Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon? What is the difference between a Chevy full size pickup such as a 1500 and a GMC? Aren't GMC pickups and Chevy pickups the same?

The biggest difference is the grilles and hoods. The GMC uses a more open grille where the Chevy has a bar that goes through it for the "bowtie".
They have different appearance packages with the top of the line Chevy being and LTZ and the GMC being the Denali.
They also use different suspension parts on some models with the GMC having a little softer ride.
They both get about the same gas mileage and the resale values are very comparable.
The GMC has tried to become the "classier" of the two in the past few years having nicer interiors and more chrome on the outside.

Yep GMC and chevy trucks are the same. Only real diff is a few minor cosmetics and the bow tie vs the GMC letters

Same engine, trans, rear end, same gauges, dash, seats, etc etc

they basically are, but the GMC's tend to have different power options than Chevy's. same motors, same bed and cab sizes, just different headlights and grilles, and slightly different interiors.

They are the same trucks. Come off the same assembly line. They just get differant badges and other cosmetics so that the GMC's can be sold at Pontiac, Buick, Cadilac, Oldsmobile and Saturn dealers. For some reason they never wanted to sell Chevy trucks at those dealers. Hence, the GMC truck was born.

They are sold at different dealerships, and sometimes the options packages are different, also sometimes the price is different.

Older ones were different in many ways. Newer ones are the same in many ways. Did you have a particular year you were interested in?
