Road tire? If you’re going to be mudding a lot you want a mud terrain. If it’s not going to even see the pavement, I would suggest a super swamper either one of the TSLs or the bogger if you’re into serious mud.

You’ll need to get a suspension lift and cut the fenders to fit larger tires. Get the biggest tires that you can afford!! Tire size will also depend on axle strength. Teh front dana 30 can handle up to 35s alright if you’re easy on it, but if you have a dana 35 rear end, you shouldn’t go bigger than 31s. Look for a dana 44 or chrysler 8.25 to replace the d35, or swap in a ford exploder 8.8.

How far the tire sticks out depends on back spacing. You’ll probably want to get steel wheels with about 4" of back spacing give or take a half inch. If you’re staying under 33s, go 15×7" wheel with 4.25" backspacing.

I would stay away from buckshot mudders for the road, they don’t wear well. super swampers are great tires but again, aren’t really for the road. they will wear down to fast on the road. if you want a super swamper and want to drive it on the road every day I suggest the truxus MT, it’s a good compromise and you can wheel real hard with them and they’ll treat you well.

If you’re actually going to be on the road more, I suggest a general grabber at2, which is a fairly agressive all terrain tire. great on the road and great off road. good luck!
