Don’t play around, get a Ford F250. Big tires reduce the amount of horsepower delivered to the road, so you’ll need a V8 to have any kind of acceleration.
    Mid-size trucks are for girly-men.

im a die hard dodge guy, but when it comes to "best mid size" the 1988 to 1997 toyota is it. hands down. these trucks have the largest log of parts that can be made to fit. they have great motor life and from factory can be fitted with 32" 11.50 tires with no mods. i would go with a 6 inch suspension lift and fit it with 35" 14.50. this combo will give you the over the road nice ride and still stick in the corners then when its time to play off road plenty of travel for even the biggest rock gardens. it comes down to where you live and what you do with it. but when it comes to a cool look go yoda!

I have to say get a Jeep XJ / Cherokee. The have the absolute best stance of any 4×4. Get a Cherokee add at least a 4.5" Lift and you can fit 33" tires under it. Get some Goodyear MT/R tires from TireRack.com and you’re set to go anywhere.
