Keep it tuned up and keep the oil changed and put a K&N air filter in it.
Keep your heavy ass foot off the gas.

The cheapest one is definitely keep your tires pumped up, maybe a few psi above normal. Ride will be a little bumpier, but nothing grotesque.

Make sure the oxygen sensor(s) is/are working well. Clean out the throttle body if you've got any carbon buildup there…Make sure the EGR system is functioning properly…sorry I'm not more specific, I don't know this truck's specifics at all… Umm, if the timing is adjustable, make sure it's where it should be. That's all I can think of off hand aside from what's already been said… Oh, and don't brake uphill. Oh yeah, and make sure the cat isn't clogged and also that the thermostat is good. If the engine doesn't heat up all the way, you lose mileage.

Without doubt the best way is to fit a Hydrogen boost generator they claim to reduce fuel by 25%-50%

IT MAY SOUND FUNNY BUT YES ON THE TUNE UP BUT DO CHECK THE TIRES FOR PROPER INFLATION AS WELL AS GETTING THE ALIGNMENT CHECKED.

THE ALIGNMENT IS ALWAYS THE MOST FORGOTTEN THING TO LOOK AT BECAUSE IF IT DRIVES STRAIGHT AND THE STEERING WHEEL IS STRAIGHT IT MUST BE ALIGNED……..(WRONG)
