What's the best gas mileage 4×4 that I can afford?

What’s the best gas mileage 4×4 that would work well in the tough parts of the Sierra Nevada mountains? I don’t need to tow anything, if I do it will be a tiny tailor.

I’m not looking to spend over 5,000$ total cost.

A Toyota Tacoma has the best gas mileage of any REAL 4×4… which is 18 city 20 hwy. They are also very dependable and they last forever and because of this they depreciate more slowly so your probably going to have to look for an older one.

If you dont like the tacoma then i would definitely go with the Ford Ranger, its also a very good truck and it gets 14 city 18 hwy mpg.

    Try Ford.

You won’t see these problems in the F150 4×4.

The Nissan Titan has horrific gas mileage.

    Same with the Venza

    Safety falls below it’s competition.

I would go with a Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner.
