Why do trucks run you off the road when you are driving a brand new Mercedes?

A friend of mine had a brand new red mercedes with no license plates because it was brand new. Semi trucks tried to run her off the road four times. And when she loaned the car to a man for a day, the same thing happened to him. Is this some unspoken game truckers play? What is the motivation for this? Do they do this to all nice cars?

I’m guessing that they are terrible drivers, if a semi is able to catch up they shouldn’t be driving a Mercedes.

Try putting a big THIS IS A RENTAL sign on the dashboard and the rear. That should solve it.
